Essential Requirements
To qualify for this exciting opportunity, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualification:
- A matric certificate or an equivalent qualification (NQF4 level) is mandatory.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patrons and colleagues.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and at least one other official language.
- Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work efficiently under pressure, both independently and as part of a team.
- Alertness: Quick thinking and responsiveness in emergency situations.
- Customer Service Orientation: A strong sense of customer service to ensure a positive experience for all patrons.
- Technical Skills: Experience with Electronic Point of Sale (POS) systems for efficient transaction processing.
Key Responsibilities
As a Bartender at the Baxter Theatre Centre, your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Customer Service:
- Provide friendly, efficient, and courteous service to patrons and staff, ensuring a welcoming environment at all times.
- Stock Management:
- Control and account for bar stock, ensuring all inventory is managed accurately and efficiently.
- Beverage Service:
- Serve a variety of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, ensuring compliance with serving standards and customer preferences.
- Sales Processing:
- Accurately process orders and sales using the electronic point of sale (POS) system, ensuring swift and correct transactions.
- Maintenance and Cleanliness:
- Assist in maintaining and cleaning bar equipment and service areas, ensuring a tidy and organized workspace.
- Compliance:
- Adhere strictly to the Liquor Act of the Western Cape and the Baxter Theatre Bar’s code of conduct, ensuring all activities comply with legal and ethical standards.
- Transaction Reconciliation:
- Reconcile day-end sales and cash transactions, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Additional Assistance:
- Provide assistance with parking arrangements as needed, ensuring smooth operations and convenience for patrons.
