Job Description
The Sales Assistant will play a key role in supporting daily store operations, assisting customers, achieving sales targets, and maintaining excellent store presentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide product information and recommendations.
- Process customer purchases using Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Assist in achieving daily and monthly sales targets.
- Restock shelves and ensure merchandise is properly displayed.
- Organize and fold clothing items.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and attractive shopping environment.
- Assist with inventory control and stock management.
- Conduct spot checks and stock counts when required.
- Support visual merchandising activities.
- Handle customer queries and complaints effectively.
- Promote additional products through upselling and cross-selling techniques.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- 1–2 years of experience in a sales environment.
- Retail experience within a clothing store will be advantageous.
- Experience achieving sales targets.
- Experience using POS systems and handling cash transactions.
- Knowledge of stock control and inventory management.
- Good understanding of fashion products, brands, sizes, and trends.
