Job Description

The Client Service Officer will be responsible for providing front-line customer service and administrative support within the Inspection and Enforcement Services (IES) environment.

The successful candidates will assist clients, resolve labour legislation enquiries, and ensure quality service delivery in accordance with Departmental policies and Batho Pele principles.


Key Responsibilities

Client Service Delivery

  • Render services at the Help Desk as the first point of entry.
  • Assist clients with labour-related enquiries.
  • Provide information regarding Employment and Labour services.
  • Maintain professional and efficient customer service.

Complaint Resolution

  • Resolve complaints related to IES labour legislation.
  • Address client concerns according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Escalate complex matters where necessary.

Administration

  • Perform general administrative duties.
  • Capture and maintain records accurately.
  • Process documentation and correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental procedures.

Advocacy and Awareness

  • Participate in advocacy and awareness campaigns.
  • Assist with outreach programmes when required.
  • Promote labour legislation and departmental services.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.

Knowledge Requirements

Candidates should have knowledge of:

  • Labour Legislation and Regulations.
  • International Labour Organization (ILO) Conventions.
  • Public Service Regulations.
  • Public Service Act.
  • Departmental Policies, Procedures and Guidelines.
  • Batho Pele Principles.
