The Gauteng College of Nursing is thrilled to announce that applications are now open for the 2025 Student Nurse Intake for the Diploma in Nursing! 🌟 This is your golden opportunity to embark on a fulfilling career in nursing, where you’ll gain the essential skills and knowledge to improve the well-being of individuals and communities.

  1. Register a Profile: Before applying, create a profile on the GPG Professional Job Centre system.
  2. Eligibility:
  • Must be a South African citizen residing in Gauteng.
  • Possess a Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate, or currently in Grade 12.
  • Hold a National Vocational Certificate in Primary Health.
  1. Submit Online: Applications must be completed online by 30th June. No hand-delivered or emailed applications will be accepted.
  2. Document Submission: Upload certified documents online. Shortlisted candidates will need to provide supporting documents at the selection center.

📚 Minimum Requirements:

  • Senior Certificate: English HG D or SG C, Biology HG D or SG C, Mathematics HG D or SG C, M score of 17.
  • National Senior Certificate: English Level 4, Life Sciences Level 4, Mathematics Level 4 or Maths Literacy Level 5, APS of 27 or more (Life Orientation counts as half the score).
  • National Vocational Certificate: 50% in Fundamental Subjects (English First Additional Language, Maths/Maths Literacy, Life Orientation), 60% in Vocational Subjects (SA Health Care System, Public Health, Human Body and Mind, Community-Oriented Primary Care).
  • Grade 12 Learners: Must meet National Senior Certificate requirements based on Grade 11 final results.

📝 What You Need to Know:

Successful applicants must sign an agreement with the Department of Health and attend lectures. You’ll also be required to participate in Work Integrated Learning (WIL), which includes working shifts, public holidays, weekends, and nights at Gauteng hospitals and clinics.
