Background & Job Description
The African Development Bank (AfDB) invites eligible and qualified candidates to apply for its 2025 Internship Program – Session 2, offering a unique opportunity for graduate students to gain professional experience in Africa’s leading development finance institution. Founded in 1964, AfDB serves 81 member states, including 54 African countries, and is committed to fostering inclusive and sustainable economic development across the continent.

Tasks
Interns may be assigned to work either remotely or onsite, depending on departmental needs. Their tasks may include but are not limited to:
- Supporting research and project implementation
- Assisting in policy and strategic planning
- Participating in technical reviews and analysis
- Drafting reports, presentations, and policy briefs
- Contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Supporting team members in operational and administrative functions
Qualifications
To be considered for the 2025 Internship Program – Session 2, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be nationals of a member country of the African Development Bank
- Be at least 18 years old and not older than 30 years at the time of internship commencement
- Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in a recognized institution
- Or have graduated from such a program within the last year
- Submit a letter from their institution confirming enrollment or a degree certificate
- Be fluent in English or French
- Proficiency in standard software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); SAP knowledge is an added advantage

This is an entry-level internship, and previous work experience is not mandatory. However, candidates will benefit from exposure to one or more of the following disciplines aligned with the Bank’s core operations:
