Job Description
As a Part-Time Sales Assistant at PEP, you will play a crucial role in ensuring an excellent shopping experience for customers while contributing to the overall success of the store. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service and assistance in-store
- Maintain store presentation, ensuring shelves are stocked and displays are neat
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Process sales and returns while ensuring smooth operation at the cash register
- Minimise stock losses by following security and stock management procedures
- Assist with stock control, receiving, and unpacking deliveries
- Promote PEP’s products, upsell, and cross-sell to customers
- Ensure customers are aware of ongoing promotions and offers
- Follow company procedures to maintain a secure, safe, and clean working environment
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve store goals
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is customer-focused, energetic, and passionate about retail. The ability to work in a team while also taking initiative is highly valued.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) qualification
- Retail experience in customer service, sales, cashiering, or general assistant roles
- Must reside within 15km of the store location in Hoedspruit
- Clear criminal record
- Basic computer literacy
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous retail experience is an advantage
- South African candidates preferred
- Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus)
- Passion for retail and customer engagement
Role Responsibility
As a Sales Assistant, your role is essential in providing an outstanding shopping experience. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Engaging with Customers: Greet every customer with a warm welcome, assist them with inquiries, and provide recommendations based on their needs
