Job Description
Successful candidates will be placed on a 12-month contract in various business units within Eskom, including:
- Human Resources
- Finance
- Maintenance & Operations
- Business Enablement
- Asset Creation
- Retail
This placement will provide practical experience, allowing candidates to develop a strong foundation for future career growth. Participants will gain industry-specific knowledge, enhance their professional skills, and increase their employability within the job market.
Ideal Candidate
To qualify for the Eskom YES Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Be between the ages of 18 and 34
- Hold a Grade 12 qualification with Mathematics and Accounting
- Have no prior work experience
- Should not have been permanently employed with a single employer continuously for more than one year
- Should not be studying full-time in the year of employment
- Should not have participated in the YES initiative before
Role Responsibility
Successful applicants will be assigned tasks and responsibilities in their respective departments, where they will:
- Gain practical, on-the-job experience in Eskom’s operations
- Support the assigned department in daily activities
- Develop industry-related skills through hands-on training
- Work under the guidance of experienced professionals
- Enhance their understanding of corporate and operational environments
