Job Description:
The successful candidate will report directly to the Manager: Landside Operations and will play a critical role in maintaining the operational integrity of airport parking facilities. This includes ensuring that equipment is in proper working condition, assisting customers, and promoting a safe and efficient parking experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Patrolling designated car park areas to ensure operational equipment is functioning optimally and that cleanliness standards are maintained
  • Identifying and reporting non-compliance issues in real-time and following up to ensure corrective measures have been implemented
  • Clearing coin and note jams from payment machines to avoid service interruptions
  • Conducting regular maintenance inspections on infrastructure and equipment
  • Managing ticket jams and replenishing consumables at pay stations
  • Handling emergency occurrences by alerting the appropriate personnel immediately
  • Participating in ad hoc operational activities when necessary
  • Ensuring smooth handover procedures between shifts to maintain continuity
  • Supporting customers with card payments and issues related to parking equipment
  • Investigating and escalating customer-related queries appropriately
  • Managing, replenishing, and reconciling cash float
  • Adhering to all statutory, legislative, operational policies and procedures
  • Building professional relationships to support organizational goals and values

Minimum requirements include:

  • National Senior Certificate (Matric / Grade 12)
  • At least 1 year of operational work experience in a similar environment
  • A valid Code B driverā€™s license
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays

Role Responsibility:
This role is pivotal in ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency within the airportā€™s landside operations. By conducting routine checks, resolving machine issues, and providing support to customers using the car park, the Car Park Attendant ensures that high standards are upheld at all times.

Daily duties and tasks:

  • Monitor parking areas and identify any potential issues impacting flow or customer experience
  • Provide fast and effective resolution for ticket and payment-related concerns
  • Respond to urgent equipment malfunctions and escalate where necessary
  • Refill consumables and cash at pay stations to ensure continuous service availability
  • Offer a courteous and helpful presence to all users of the car park
  • Collaborate with fellow team members and supervisors to maintain operational targets
