Essential Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: A Grade 12 Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- Driving Credentials: A valid driver’s license will be considered an added advantage.
- Professional Registration: Current and valid registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA), Intermediate Life Support (ILS), Emergency Care Technician (ECT), or Emergency Care Assistant (ECA).
- Assessment: Candidates must successfully pass a formal written test and interview.
- Identification: A valid RSA ID Document is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Policy and Procedure Compliance: Strict adherence to all policies and standard operating procedures of the Department of Health and Gauteng EMS.
- Emergency Response: Ensure timely response to all dispatched emergency calls, adhering to EMS protocols.
- Patient Care: Attend to emergency incidents, provide coordination, and deliver treatment to patients and other emergencies within the operational area.
- Operational Duties: Undertake any additional tasks as allocated by management.
- Customer Service: Maintain a high standard of customer etiquette and communication with clients.
