Requirements
To qualify for the YES – Youth Opportunity at JET Cape Gate, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be aged between 18 to 28 years old
- Hold a Matric certificate (preferable but not mandatory)
- Be available and willing to work on a fixed-term 12-month contract
- Should not have been employed permanently with one employer for longer than one year
- Should not be studying full time between April 2025 and March 2026
- Should not have previously participated in the YES Programme
- Must arrange own accommodation and transportation if necessary
- Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups as per the Employment Equity Act
Role Responsibility
Successful candidates will be entrusted with various responsibilities in a vibrant retail setting:
- Deliver outstanding customer service by assisting shoppers and ensuring a positive store experience
- Support merchandising efforts by maintaining stock displays and store tidiness
- Handle point-of-sale transactions efficiently and professionally
- Demonstrate product knowledge to meet customer needs effectively
- Uphold TFG and JET’s brand values and ensure the store environment reflects their standards
- Participate actively in training sessions and performance improvement initiatives
