Job Description

Premier’s Human Resource Internship programme is designed to equip interns with valuable work experience, skills, and knowledge across multiple HR disciplines. Participants will gain hands-on exposure to various HR functions, systems, and processes, supporting both regional and national HR initiatives. The internship promises an immersive experience in HR operations, talent development, and organisational development activities.

Key exposure areas include:

  • HR Operations administration and systems such as Dynamics 365 and Graylink
  • Recruitment processes including sourcing, onboarding, and employee movement
  • Managing employee terminations and related documentation
  • Learning and Development administration using platforms like Moodle and Dynamics 365
  • Hands-on involvement in skills development and talent management processes
  • Practical understanding of organisational development initiatives

Requirements

Candidates interested in applying for the Human Resource Intern position must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
  • Currently studying towards a National Diploma in Human Resource Management (final year)
  • A tertiary institution logbook that specifies the required exposure and experience
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license will be considered advantageous
  • No prior work experience is necessary

Role Responsibility

As a Human Resource Intern at Premier, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the HR team in a variety of functions across the KwaZulu-Natal region. Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support for HR operations and Learning & Development initiatives
  • Assisting with the recruitment process, including scheduling interviews and communicating with candidates
  • Supporting onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Maintaining and updating HR systems such as Dynamics 365 and Graylink
  • Assisting with organising training sessions and updating training records
  • Supporting employee engagement initiatives and wellness programmes
  • Participating in the execution of talent and skills development projects
  • Collaborating with HR teams across different business units for cross-functional exposure
  • Travelling to different sites for comprehensive HR practice experience as required

The role provides significant exposure to the daily workings of a professional HR department, offering practical learning that aligns with academic studies.
