Job Description
The successful candidate will carry out a range of general housekeeping duties, ensuring the Governor’s residence is maintained to the highest possible standard. The role encompasses a broad set of responsibilities that include cleaning, laundry, food preparation, and serving, all within a secure, well-managed environment.
Key tasks include:
- Performing daily housekeeping duties such as cleaning, organizing, and laundry
- Ensuring supplies are fully stocked and completing inventory forms
- Escalating areas of concern for maintenance or attention
- Preparing and serving food and beverages to residents and guests
- Ordering food ingredients and cleaning consumables in a timely manner
- Applying professional etiquette and courtesy when engaging with visitors and residents
- Ensuring effective communication and teamwork with other staff members
- Being aware of your contribution to the overall service delivery at the Governor’s residence
- Adapting and improving work processes with enthusiasm and initiative
Requirements
To be considered for the Housekeeper position, applicants must meet the following minimum criteria:
- A Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
- At least one year of experience in a hospitality environment, preferably within an executive or high-level residential setting

- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety regulations
- Practical skills in food and beverage preparation and serving
- Ability to use hospitality tools, utensils, and equipment
