Job Description:
Goldi seeks to recruit six dynamic and committed individuals who will participate in their registered apprenticeship programme under the AgriSETA. This opportunity combines theoretical training with hands-on workplace learning to empower participants with critical artisan skills. Successful apprentices will enter into a formal agreement with Goldi and AgriSETA and will be expected to complete the programme within a period of 36 months.

The positions available are:

  • X2 Millwright Apprentices
  • X1 Electrician Apprentice
  • X1 Mechanical Fitter Apprentice
  • X1 Boilermaker Apprentice
  • X1 Refrigeration Mechanic Apprentice

Key duties include:

  • Participating actively in all aspects of the formal apprenticeship training plan
  • Performing daily work-related tasks that contribute to the completion of apprenticeship competencies
  • Attending all scheduled training sessions and assessments as directed by the employer or training institution
  • Keeping an accurate and up-to-date training logbook and making it available to the employer or training organisation as requested
  • Maintaining, repairing, and optimising plant machinery and systems under the guidance of qualified Artisans and Technicians
  • Complying with all workplace health and safety policies and adhering to dress codes and conduct regulations
  • Ensuring all materials and instructions provided during the training period are handled responsibly and remain the property of the employer

This programme is designed to shape future artisans with real-world skills, providing them with professional experience in a well-established and safety-conscious environment.


Requirements:
Applicants interested in the Artisan Apprenticeship must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered:

  • Matric (Grade 12) with Mathematics and Science; OR
  • Technical Matric qualification
  • National Technical Certificate (N3 or higher) in a relevant trade
  • Passionate about the artisan trade and eager to learn and grow in a high-performance environment
  • Willingness to sign a formal learnership agreement with Goldi and AgriSETA
  • Must be able to commit to a 36-month training programme
  • South African citizenship and preferably local to Standerton or willing to relocate

Role Responsibility:
Throughout the apprenticeship, selected candidates will:

  • Assist and learn from experienced artisans in the plant environment
  • Operate and maintain machinery and technical equipment
  • Perform basic installations and repairs under supervision,
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures for safety and quality
  • Continuously document learning progress and feedback in the official logbook
  • Develop an understanding of the food processing industry and Goldi’s operations
  • Demonstrate initiative in learning and executing tasks
