Dunns, a trusted South African fashion and retail brand, is currently recruiting for the role of P27 General Assistant at its Harding branch. This permanent position falls within the Operations – Stores department, and it presents an exciting opportunity for two retail professionals to join a dynamic in-store team.
The primary focus of the General Assistant role is to support daily retail store operations while delivering exceptional customer service. From merchandise presentation to executing administrative tasks, this position requires individuals who are service-driven, adaptable, and eager to contribute to a thriving retail environment.

Tasks
- Assist in achieving daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times
- Ensure proper execution of store layout and visual merchandising
- Replenish merchandise and maintain cleanliness and organization of the store
- Protect store assets, including stock, cash, equipment, and staff welfare
- Support management in upholding company policies and procedures
- Facilitate accurate processing of lay-bys, markdowns, and stockroom management
- Collaborate with team members to ensure operational effectiveness
Qualifications
- A valid Matric (Grade 12) certificate is essential
Experience
- Prior sales experience in a retail environment is required
- Strong understanding of customer service principles
- Familiarity with working in a team-based environment
- Comfortable using computers and basic retail software (computer literacy)
- Ability to manage daily responsibilities through effective task planning
- Attentive to detail and capable of working under pressure
- Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrates a high degree of integrity, stress tolerance, and initiative
