Tasks
As a Sales Assistant at PEP, your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining a positive store environment and adhering to all security and stock loss prevention protocols
- Efficiently managing the cash register and ensuring cleanliness at workstations
- Promoting a culture of cost-effectiveness and team collaboration
- Assisting customers with purchases, upselling additional products, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience
- Addressing customer queries and promoting current in-store promotions
- Demonstrating excellent product knowledge and offering helpful suggestions
- Greeting customers warmly and offering assistance upon entry
- Consistently meeting sales targets and staying updated on new arrivals and promotions
- Supporting stock control, merchandising, and visual displays
- Receiving deliveries, managing stock levels, and maintaining storeroom organisation
- Accurately processing sales and returns using the register system
- Keeping up with updates to product features and company policies
Qualifications
- Minimum Education Requirement: Matric (Grade 12)
- Essential Attributes:
- Trustworthy and honest, particularly when handling cash
- A genuine passion for retail and customer service
- Strong communication skills in English
- Computer literacy
Experience
To be considered for the position, previous experience in the following areas will be advantageous:
- Cashier operations
- Customer service interactions
- Sales and upselling
- General worker or general assistant roles
- Store assistant or associate responsibilities
- Retail floor operations
