This entry-level position is a critical role within the Modder East division’s logistics team, offering a structured environment for growth and learning within South Africa’s robust mining industry.
Tasks
- Work a rotation of shifts as scheduled by the supervisor
- Perform underground duties safely, as per training center guidelines
- Report any potential issues that could interrupt work flow
- Inspect the condition of equipment and materials to meet company standards
- Maintain cleanliness and adhere to housekeeping standards
- Follow all health and safety policies when performing duties underground
- Support other operational tasks as assigned by the supervisor
- Align with MHSA safety standards and Gold One’s safety philosophy: “Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely”
Qualifications
- Grade 11 certificate or equivalent ABET Level
- MQA Competency B Certificate
- Ability to communicate clearly in English
- Fluency in any of the 11 South African official languages
- Written and verbal communication proficiency
- Must be declared medically fit by the Occupational Health Centre
Experience
- No prior work experience required
- Must be capable of working in underground mining environments
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced industry
- Must be able to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Demonstrates attention to detail, especially concerning health and safety standards
- A clear criminal record is mandatory
