The Western Cape Government is inviting applications for its Graduate Internship Programme 2025/2026. The programme offers on-the-job training over a duration of 3 to 24 months, providing valuable exposure to government departments and helping candidates become more competitive in the job market.

Tasks
Interns placed in the programme will receive structured, practical workplace training in the following Western Cape Government departments:
- Department of Agriculture
- Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety
- Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport
- Department of the Premier
- Department of Economic Development and Tourism
- Department of Environmental Affairs & Development Planning
- Department of Infrastructure
- Department of Local Government
- Department of Mobility
- Provincial Treasury
- Department of Social Development
The tasks will vary depending on the department and will include:
- Administrative support
- Research and reporting
- Community outreach
- Technical and analytical support
- Event coordination
- Project assistance
Qualifications
To be eligible for the Graduate Internship Programme, applicants must meet the following minimum academic requirements:
- South African citizenship and residence in the Western Cape
- Age between 20 and 35 years old
- In possession of one of the following completed qualifications:
- Certificate (NQF 5)
- Diploma (NQF 6)
- Degree (NQF 7)
- Postgraduate Qualification (NQF 8 or higher)
Experience
No prior work experience is required. However, this opportunity is particularly geared towards graduates who:
