Background & Job Description
SASSA is committed to delivering social security services to the citizens of South Africa in a professional and timely manner. As a Grants Administrator, you will play a crucial role in the administration and processing of social grant applications, ensuring that eligible citizens receive the necessary financial support in accordance with the law.

Selected candidates will be placed at various SASSA local offices within the Eastern Cape region. The position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, service-driven, and capable of operating in a high-volume administrative environment.


Tasks

As a Grants Administrator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the administration of social grants at local office and service point levels
  • Screening all grant applications for compliance and completeness
  • Capturing grant applications into the SASSA system
  • Providing customer service and support to grant applicants
  • Processing various grant documentation
  • Performing other administrative duties related to grants management
  • Conducting quality control checks on submitted applications
  • Ensuring full compliance with Section 57 of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Chapter 6, Part 3

Qualifications

To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Senior Certificate (Matric/Grade 12 – NQF Level 4)
  • Computer literacy is a must

Additional Advantageous Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s licence
  • Previous administrative or clerical work experience

Experience

Although prior work experience is not mandatory, administrative or clerical experience will serve as a valuable asset during the selection process. Demonstrated ability to interact with the public in a customer-focused environment will also be considered an advantage.
