Background & Job Description
CETA, established under the Skills Development Act 97 of 1998, functions as a Schedule 3A public entity governed by the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA). The authority is responsible for advancing skills development within the construction and built environment sector.
The 2025 internship programme seeks to place graduates on various national projects to foster practical skills and improve employment prospects. Interns will contribute to the planning, administration, and monitoring of construction-related educational and training initiatives.
This initiative is part of CETA’s broader mission to align workforce capabilities with industry needs and ensure that public sector graduates have the exposure needed for long-term career development.
Tasks
Interns selected for the programme may be involved in the following:
- Assisting with project planning and implementation
- Performing financial and administrative support functions
- Monitoring and evaluating project progress
- Supporting compliance and reporting activities
- Liaising with stakeholders, both internal and external
- Managing records and documentation accurately
- Contributing to meetings and assisting with logistics
Qualifications
Interested candidates must hold a completed qualification in any of the following fields:
- Financial Management
- Public Administration
- Project Management
Please note:
✔️ Only graduates from public institutions — including TVET Colleges, Universities of Technology, and Traditional Universities — are eligible.
❌ Applications from private colleges will not be accepted.
Experience
This programme is targeted at recent graduates who are eager to gain their first working experience in the construction and education sector. No prior professional experience is required.
