As a Client Service Consultant, your primary responsibility will be to manage inbound and outbound communication channels effectively, ensuring all client and broker interactions are resolved timeously and accurately. Tasks
- Accurately capture client and broker data into relevant internal systems
- Execute and follow broker instructions within agreed turnaround times and compliance standards

- Communicate with brokers and clients in a professional, client-centred manner
- Ensure timely follow-ups and resolution of queries in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs)
- Provide high-quality customer service via telephone and written communication

- Demonstrate reliable time management and organisational abilities
Qualifications
- Matric Certificate (National Senior Certificate) or an equivalent qualification
- FAIS-compliant (30 credits at NQF Level 4)
- Competence in using MS Office and insurance-related software systems
- Ability and willingness to work shifts, including after-hours and weekends if required
Experience
- A minimum of 2 years’ work experience in short-term insurance
- Clear criminal and credit records (mandatory)
- Demonstrated adherence to compliance and quality assurance standards
- Exposure to working under supervision to achieve FAIS Fit & Proper standards
- A record of consistent target achievement in a service or contact centre environment

The Insurance Consultant role is a cornerstone of Santam’s broker support system. Tasks
- Handle end-to-end servicing of broker requests and enquiries
- Provide telephonic and email support to intermediaries and authorised brokerage representatives
- Manage general insurance and policy-specific queries
- Administer new policies, maintain existing ones, handle renewals, and oversee agricultural policy aspects
- Resolve insurance queries within defined timeframes and compliance guidelines
- Follow up on cancelled policies and attempt to retain clients
- Adjust policy premiums based on updated asset values
- Set realistic turnaround time expectations for submitted broker requests

Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12 is essential
- Minimum of 60 FAIS commercial lines credits
- Insurance-related qualification (e.g., NQF Level 4) is advantageous
Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in short-term commercial insurance and/or agricultural policy administration
- Proven background in policy administration and underwriting within the short-term insurance industry
