Job Description
The Vodacom IT Learnership is designed to develop ICT capabilities among young South Africans through hands-on training and guided learning. Once enrolled, learners will be trained in a variety of IT functions including:
- Installation of IT hardware and software
- Basic troubleshooting and repairs
- Refurbishment of computer equipment
- Network connectivity and technical support
- Assisting with ICT-related community projects
This structured programme allows learners to build both technical knowledge and practical experience. At the end of the 12-month period, successful participants will have the competencies needed to enter the ICT industry or pursue further learning.
Requirements
To be considered for the Vodacom Foundation Learnership, applicants must meet the following selection criteria:
- Possess a valid Matric Certificate with English (1st or 2nd language), Mathematical Literacy or Mathematics, Business Studies, and/or Physical Science
- Age requirement: Must be between 18 and 34 years old
- Employment status: Must be currently unemployed
- Geographical eligibility: Must reside within the radius of a Vodacom ICT Centre
- Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID
- Disadvantaged background: Priority will be given to those from schools categorized as Quintile 1 to 3
- First-time applicant: Must not have previously received this training
- Financial aid: Must not be receiving any bursary or financial assistance for the year

Role Responsibility
Participants in the Youth Academy Learnership will be responsible for:
- Attending all theoretical and practical training sessions

- Maintaining discipline and professionalism throughout the learnership
