What is FNB FirstJob Internship Programme 2025 / 2026?
The FirstJob Internship Programme is a one-year (12-month) development-focused role designed for graduates with little or no work experience. Interns will be placed in different FNB business areas, where they will contribute to operational, administrative, financial, and IT functions while receiving training and mentorship. The programme equips participants with critical skills, workplace readiness, and professional exposure, making it an excellent entry point into the financial sector.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Aged between 18 and 35 years
- Currently unemployed
- Not have previously participated in the FNB FirstJob programme or worked for FirstRand
- Hold a relevant qualification:
- Matric certificate
- NQF 5 or 6 certificates/diplomas in fields such as Finance, IT, Data, HR, Communications, or Administration
- Have little to no work experience (less than 12 months of full-time or part-time/casual work)
Role Responsibility
Interns will:
- Identify and escalate potential risks that could lead to increased costs
- Demonstrate cost-conscious behavior in daily activities
- Learn and adhere to financial and operational processes
- Provide quality customer service in line with FNB’s service standards
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
- Support process and project improvements
- Suggest innovative ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Align business operations with customer service excellence goals
- Advise management on possible system and process enhancements
- Actively participate in personal development and team activities
- Uphold FNB’s values, including the principle of continuous improvement: “I get better and better.”
