The North West Parks & Tourism Board (NWPTB) has opened applications for the 2025 Graduate Internship Programme. What is North West Parks & Tourism Board Graduate Internship Programme?

The NWPTB Graduate Internship Programme is a structured 12-month training and development opportunity aimed at bridging the gap between academic knowledge and workplace experience. Successful applicants will gain hands-on exposure in conservation, tourism development, environmental planning, and human resource management while earning a monthly stipend of R5,000.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens aged between 18 – 35 years
  • Be unemployed at the time of application
  • Hold a relevant qualification from a recognized University or University of Technology (UoT)
  • Possess one of the following qualifications:
    • National Diploma in Nature Conservation (10 posts)
    • Diploma/Degree in Tourism Management and Development (10 posts)
    • Diploma/Degree in Human Resources Management (5 posts)
    • Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management (2 posts)
  • Have a passion for conservation, tourism, and sustainable development

Role Responsibility

Interns will:

  • Contribute to conservation projects, wildlife management, and sustainable resource practices
  • Assist in developing and promoting tourism initiatives across the North West Province
  • Support human resources functions including recruitment, staff development, and organizational processes
  • Work on environmental planning, compliance monitoring, and sustainability projects
  • Gain exposure to both office-based and fieldwork tasks relevant to their qualification
