The BMW Plant Rosslyn in Pretoria is home to cutting-edge automotive technology, and this is where selected candidates will undergo comprehensive training to kickstart their careers in the automotive sector.

What is BMW Apprenticeship & Artisanships?
The BMW Apprenticeship & Artisanship programmes are structured three-year training opportunities for energetic, motivated, and ambitious young individuals. These programmes combine theory and practical experience, ensuring candidates gain skills that meet international automotive standards. The apprenticeships being offered for 2025 are:

  • BMW Transportation Electrician Apprenticeship
  • BMW Mechatronics Technician Apprenticeship

Both programmes are based at the BMW Plant Rosslyn and include hands-on training, classroom learning, and real-world exposure to state-of-the-art production systems.

Minimum Requirements

BMW Transportation Electrician Apprenticeship (Job ID: 144735)

  • Matric with at least 50% in Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and Physical Science
  • OR NQF 4/N3 in Engineering Studies with 50% in Mathematics and Engineering Science
  • Valid driver’s license
  • N2 Engineering Studies with relevant trade theory is advantageous
  • Complete application submission required

BMW Mechatronics Technician Apprenticeship (Job ID: 144736)

  • Matric with at least 50% in Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and Physical Science
  • OR NQF 4/N3 in Engineering Studies with 50% in Mathematics and Engineering Science
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Nated Engineering Studies with relevant trade theory is advantageous
  • Complete application submission required

Role Responsibility

  • Participate in a structured 3-year apprenticeship programme
  • Attend theoretical and technical training sessions
  • Gain practical, hands-on experience at BMW Plant Rosslyn
  • Contribute to automotive technology and production processes
  • Adhere to BMW’s high standards of safety, quality, and innovation
  • Engage in teamwork and professional workplace learning
