Introduction
The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) has officially opened applications for its 2025 Graduate Internship Programme. This initiative aims to empower unemployed graduates between the ages of 18 and 35, including Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), by offering them an opportunity to gain professional work experience while contributing to youth development in South Africa.

This internship runs for 24 months and provides candidates with a platform to acquire practical skills, industry knowledge, and hands-on exposure within various NYDA offices. Successful applicants will receive a monthly stipend of R8,000 and will be placed in both national and regional offices across the country.

What is National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) Graduate Internship?
The NYDA Graduate Internship is a structured two-year programme designed to prepare graduates for the labour market. It helps young professionals bridge the gap between academic learning and workplace readiness while fostering personal and career development. Interns will work in diverse divisions such as finance, administration, customer service, auditing, supply chain management, and project management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • South African citizen aged 18–35
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (as per placement area)
  • Certified copies of ID, Matric certificate, and tertiary qualifications
  • Updated CV
  • Motivational cover letter indicating preferred work location and referencing the position number
  • Preference will be given to Persons with Disabilities and graduates who have not participated in an internship before

Role Responsibility:
Interns will:

  • Provide administrative and operational support within allocated departments
  • Assist in project planning, coordination, and implementation
  • Contribute to youth development initiatives and strategic programmes
  • Support financial, auditing, HR, and supply chain functions depending on placement
  • Deliver excellent customer service in line with NYDA’s standards
  • Participate in monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities
