Introduction
Tshipi é Ntle is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed youth from the John Taolo Gaetsewe District in the Northern Cape. The 6 x Mine Technical Support Learnerships provide practical exposure in the mining sector, focusing on geology, sampling, and surveying. Successful candidates will gain NQF Level 2 qualifications and receive a monthly stipend while learning.

What is 6 x Tshipi é Ntle Mine Technical Support Learnership?
This learnership is designed to develop skills in three essential mining disciplines:

  • Geology – assisting with mapping, core logging, and geological data collection
  • Sampling – collecting, labeling, and delivering samples to the lab
  • Surveying – supporting field measurements, peg setting, and updating survey records

Participants will also learn to adhere to mine safety rules, maintain equipment, and report daily activities to supervisors.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Science
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of residence and high school attended
  • Ability to obtain a valid medical fitness certificate
  • Must undergo a Dover Assessment as part of the recruitment process

Role Responsibility
Geology

  • Assist with mapping and core logging
  • Collect and record geological data
  • Support drilling and sampling activities

Sampling

  • Collect and label samples
  • Deliver samples to the laboratory
  • Capture sampling data

Surveying

  • Assist with field measurements
  • Set out survey pegs/points
  • Update survey records and plans

General

  • Adhere to mine health and safety rules
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Record daily tasks and report to supervisor
