What is the Ekurhuleni West TVET College Hospitality Trainees Programme?
The Hospitality Trainees Programme is an 18-month structured training opportunity that equips graduates with essential skills in hospitality management. Successful candidates will receive a monthly stipend of R4,326 while actively engaging in real-world hospitality operations. This programme is designed to prepare young professionals for diverse career paths within the hospitality and catering industry.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Possess an N6 Hospitality Certificate
- Provide certified copies of N4–N6 academic records
- Hold a valid South African Identity Document

Role Responsibility
Selected candidates will take on important responsibilities within the hospitality department, including:
- Compiling and placing orders for stock and supplies
- Conducting stock-taking of food items and equipment
- Managing stock control and issuing ingredients
- Assisting with nutrition and menu planning
- Supporting lecturers with classroom demonstrations
- Cooking and preparing meals for the college crèche
- Liaising with suppliers and preparing quotations
- Helping to plan and manage hospitality functions
- Ensuring compliance with kitchen health and safety (OHS) standards
- Supervising students during functions and restaurant training days
