The Trainee Process Controller will be responsible for performing process control duties according to section-specific procedures, ensuring that production targets are met in terms of time, quality, and efficiency. The role focuses on reducing errors, minimizing wastage, and maintaining high standards of safety, environmental, and quality compliance.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

To be eligible for the Trainee Process Controller position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • NQF Level 4 (Matric) with Mathematics and Science.
  • A Process Controller qualification with at least one completed PMR Process Controller module is advantageous.
  • 0–1 year of relevant plant/process experience.
  • Basic computer literacy (MS Office, SAP preferred).
  • Good communication skills with proficiency in reading and writing in English.
  • Basic problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of plant-specific processes and risk assessments (safety, environmental, quality, and security procedures).
  • Must be medically fit for the Platinum Metal Refinery (PMR).

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Trainee Process Controller, you will:

  • Perform tasks as outlined in the EPMR Primary Separations CPDP.
  • Update log sheets and other required documentation accurately.
  • Conduct analyses and monitor plant operations.
  • Promote and maintain safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all work procedures.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in designated areas.
