CCBSA is seeking a qualified individual with the relevant skills and experience to fill the Cleaner role at its Rustenburg branch. The successful candidate will report directly to the Sales Manager. The primary purpose of this job is to ensure that designated work areas remain clean and well-maintained, adhering to the company’s specified cleaning requirements.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
As a Cleaner at CCBSA, your main duties will include:
- Emptying and cleaning waste bins and transporting waste to designated collection points.
- Sweeping floors using brushes or dust control mops and mopping with wet or damp mops.
- Vacuuming carpets and conducting spot cleaning.
- Operating electrically powered cleaning machines for scrubbing, polishing, and burnishing floors after receiving the necessary training.
- Cleaning various surfaces, including furniture, shelves, windowsills, and cupboards.
- Replenishing consumables such as soap, toilet rolls, and paper towels in line with standard procedures.
- Cleaning toilets, urinals, sinks, showers, and drinking fountains, as well as performing deep cleaning of ablution areas and drains.
- Performing basic gardening tasks such as weed removal, lawn mowing, and pruning.
- Using chemical agents for cleaning operations following proper instructions and training.
- Washing walls and cleaning inside windows at specified height limits.
- Reporting any issues affecting work performance to the Supervisor or Team Leader.
- Adapting to changes in cleaning areas as per the establishment’s needs.
The position requires flexibility, as the candidate may work alone or in teams, and might be required to train colleagues when necessary. Additionally, creating a welcoming and courteous environment for visitors and colleagues is an important part of the role.
Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: A Grade 12/Matric qualification is essential.
- Experience: Preferably, candidates should have experience in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment. Applicants should also be literate and numerate to carry out the required tasks effectively.
