Program Overview

This Learnership combines structured learning modules with practical, hands-on experience, focusing on Long Term Insurance. Upon completion, learners receive a qualification that is recognized throughout South Africa and gain real-world skills essential for success in the Financial Services industry.

Key Responsibilities in Long Term Insurance

As a participant in this program, you will be part of the Discovery Health GAU Service Team, specializing in Long Term Insurance. Key areas of involvement include:

  • Client Service Support: Provide assistance to medical aid clients, handling queries, managing claims, and processing new business requests.
  • Administration of Health Benefits: Support the administration and processing of client health benefits, ensuring timely and accurate service delivery.

Qualifications and Eligibility

Discovery is seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Grade 12 Completion: Essential with the following minimum requirements:
    • Maths: Level 4 (50% or higher)
    • English: Level 4 (50% or higher)
    • Maths Literacy: Level 5 (60% or higher)
    • A second language: Level 4 (50% or higher)
  • Tertiary Education: While not mandatory, any incomplete tertiary qualification will be advantageous.

Additional eligibility criteria include:

  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years of age.
  • Employment Status: Candidates must not be enrolled in post-Matric studies or engaged in full-time employment.
  • Language Proficiency: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in basic computer skills, particularly MS Excel and MS Outlook.
