The Over-the-Counter Assistant role supports Unisa’s student registration process by handling the picking, packing, and shipping of study material. This ensures that students who select the “Counter” option during registration receive their materials on time and in an organized manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Picking, Packing, and Shipping: Assist in preparing study materials for collection, packaging them accurately, and ensuring timely distribution.
- Inventory Management: Track collected materials, recording details for transparency and stock control.
- Warehouse Assistance: Support broader warehouse tasks such as organizing individual items and fulfilling additional operational requirements, ensuring efficient distribution.
- Occupational Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all relevant safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment in line with Occupational Health and Safety standards.
Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Matric / Grade 12 Certificate.
- Unisa Student Status: Must be currently registered as a Unisa student.
Skills and Competencies
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel).
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Problem-Solving: Effective analytical and planning skills.
Abilities
- Teamwork and Independence: Ability to function well both independently and in a team setting.
- Time Management: Capable of meeting tight deadlines and maintaining accuracy under pressure.

Recommended Qualifications
