Key Responsibilities
As a General Worker at Frazer Alexander, you will play an integral role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of tailings operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the immediate supervisor to achieve daily operational targets.
- Conducting daily inspections of designated work areas.
- Planning and managing tailings materials on-site and at deposition areas.
- Extending and connecting pipelines in accordance with operational requirements.
- Operating valves as per specific task requirements.
- Assisting in resolving operational challenges and reporting any deviations to the supervisor.
- Monitoring and controlling tailings dam levels to ensure integrity through mud guard duties.
- Ensuring excellent housekeeping in all work areas.
- Following safety rules and regulations aligned with company policies and legislation.
- Participating in toolbox talks or meetings to stay updated on safety protocols and operational guidelines.
Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification.
Experience
- Minimum of 1-5 years of experience in a Frazer/tailings environment.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
- Observant and detail-oriented with good listening skills.
- Effective teamwork and collaboration.
General Requirements
- Must successfully pass the mine’s criminal screening process.
- Ability to work rotating shifts and occasional overtime.
- Physically, mentally, and medically fit to meet job demands.
