Who Can Apply?
The bursary is open to:
Unemployed Learners
- South African citizens only.
- A combined household income not exceeding R1,000,000 per annum.
- Must be registered or accepted at a Public University, University of Technology, or TVET college.
- Pursuing qualifications within the Finance and Accounting Services (FAS) sector, with preference given to IT-related fields and national critical skills.
Learners in Learning Development Programmes (Interns and Trainees)
- Similar eligibility criteria as unemployed learners.
- Acceptance at a Public University, University of Technology, or TVET college is required.
Comprehensive Bursary Funding
The FASSET bursary ensures that learners focus entirely on their studies by covering key expenses:
University Learners
- Funding capped at R100,000 per annum.
- Covers:
- Tuition fees
- Prescribed textbooks
- Accommodation
- Meal allowances
TVET Learners
- Funding capped at R40,000 per annum.
- Covers:
- Tuition fees
- Prescribed textbooks
