Job Description

The Motor and Home Direct Sales Agent will be responsible for selling personal lines insurance products on behalf of insurer partners. The role demands an individual with exceptional sales acumen, a strong understanding of short-term insurance, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients. Key responsibilities include achieving sales targets, educating customers about product offerings, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Role Responsibilities

  • Maximize policy sales and monthly written premium while maintaining compliance and a customer-centric approach
  • Provide professional, courteous, and prompt responses to lead providers and customers
  • Execute the sales process with knowledge, diligence, and integrity
  • Offer competitor quotes when necessary to provide customers with suitable options
  • Optimize each lead by selling additional relevant products
  • Utilize effective interpersonal skills and communication methods to secure sales
  • Accurately assess customer needs through questioning and active listening
  • Match product benefits to customer needs and clearly demonstrate value
  • Handle objections professionally and provide suitable resolutions

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educational Requirements:
    • Matric / Grade 12
    • RE5 Certification
    • FETC: Short-Term Insurance NQF4 or higher (preferred)
    • Compliance with regulatory requirements such as DOFA period and FAIS Fit & Proper
  • Work Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of call center sales experience
    • At least 1 year of outbound call center sales experience
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in motor and home insurance sales
    • Fluency in English and at least one other official South African language
