This opportunity is ideal for ambitious students currently pursuing a National Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management who require practical experience to complete their qualification. Successful candidates will be placed at the company’s Head Office, where they will gain comprehensive industry exposure and hands-on experience in logistics operations.

Job Description

The AFGRI Logistics Internship Programme is designed to provide aspiring logistics professionals with the necessary skills and industry knowledge required for a successful career. Interns will engage in diverse projects, work closely with cross-functional teams, and perform various tasks related to supply chain and logistics management. The programme aims to bridge the gap between academic studies and workplace experience, ensuring that interns develop both technical and soft skills essential for career growth.

Ideal Candidate

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the internship:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Currently registered or planning to register for the final year of a National Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management at a recognised South African higher education institution in 2025
  • Work Integrated Learning (WIL) must be a compulsory requirement for the completion of the qualification
  • Academic record and an official letter from the institution confirming the WIL requirement must be attached to the application
  • Must not have worked full-time for more than one year in their field of study
  • Residing in or near Centurion will be advantageous
  • Strong academic performance will be a significant advantage

Role Responsibility

Interns will be assigned various tasks to enhance their learning and contribute to the department’s operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to execute projects assigned by the Line Manager
  • Gaining hands-on experience aligned with their academic qualifications and career aspirations
  • Assisting in various logistics functions such as inventory control, supply chain planning, and order fulfillment
  • Supporting teams in executing logistics strategies and process improvements
  • Performing additional responsibilities as requested to meet business objectives
  • Participating in departmental meetings and contributing innovative ideas

Duration of the Programme
