The Cashier Development Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and monitoring training programs tailored to POS employees across Dis-Chem stores. Reporting to the Learning & Development unit at Head Office, the role ensures that cashier staff remain updated with system changes, operational requirements, and corporate policies. By equipping frontline staff with the right skills and knowledge, the trainer plays a critical role in improving service delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Grade 12 / Matric qualification
• A facilitation certificate
• 2–3 years’ experience in training or facilitation within the retail industry

Additional advantages include:

• 1–2 years of cashier experience
• A tertiary qualification in Education, Training & Development (including moderator, assessor, and facilitation credentials)
• Familiarity with SAP and retail systems

Role Responsibility
As a Cashier Development Trainer, you will be expected to:

• Deliver training sessions and coaching to POS staff
• Conduct training needs analyses to identify gaps
• Demonstrate use of POS equipment and systems
• Facilitate group discussions and learning interventions
• Assess training effectiveness through surveys, observation, and interviews
• Generate reports and recommend improvements
• Maintain accurate records, registers, and documentation
• Prepare training materials in advance
• Capture training data accurately
• Monitor cashier variances, customer feedback, and shrinkage trends
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and escalate issues when required
• Collaborate with leadership to forecast training needs
