What is the Apprentice Welder Program at Transnet?
The Apprentice Welder Program at Transnet is a comprehensive training initiative aimed at preparing individuals to operate independently and productively in the welding trade. As an apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in:

Role Responsibility
As an apprentice welder, you will be trained to:

  • Plan and prepare work sites, equipment, tools, and materials for trade-related activities

  • Install, assemble, fit, and connect trade-related equipment
  • Test, inspect, commission, and maintain welding installations and equipment

    • Mechano-Technology
  • NCV Level 4
    • Fundamentals, First Additional Language (English), Mathematics (Pure), Life Orientation

    • Mechanical Technology (Welding and Metal Work)

Additional requirements:
