What is Transnet Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship Programme 2025?

Role Responsibility

During the program, apprentices will be trained to:

  • Plan and prepare work sites, ensuring tools, materials, and consumables are organized for operations
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments effectively
  • Install, assemble, and fit electrical equipment and mechanical components
  • Conduct tests, inspections, and commissioning of diesel systems and equipment
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical assemblies
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards while completing all tasks
