Introduction
The We Invest Africa Learnership and Skills Programmes 2025, in partnership with the Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) Labour Activation Programme, offers unemployed South Africans the chance to gain valuable qualifications and practical training. Through this initiative, 30 individuals per programme will be selected for a 12-month intake running in 2025/2026. Participants will receive accredited training in critical sectors such as farming, construction, landscaping, IT, and entrepreneurship, helping them build sustainable careers.

What is We Invest Africa Learnership and Skills Programmes 2025?
This programme provides unemployed individuals with structured training opportunities designed to bridge the skills gap and create pathways to employment or self-employment. It consists of two streams:

  • Learnership Opportunities (12 months, NQF-accredited)
    • National Certificate: Mixed Farming Systems – NQF Level 2
    • National Certificate: Plant Production – NQF Level 3
    • National Certificate: Landscaping – NQF Level 2
    • National Certificate: Animal Production – NQF Level 2
    • National Certificate: Construction Roadworks – NQF Level 3
    • National Certificate: Construction Health and Safety – NQF Level 3
    • National Certificate: Community House Building – NQF Level 2
    • National Certificate: Water and Wastewater Process Control – NQF Level 3
  • Skills Programmes (short-term, work-ready training)
    • Entrepreneurship Support
    • Professional Driving
    • Farming and Poultry Farming
    • Horticulture
    • Construction Health and Safety
    • Customer Services
    • Plumbing and Plastering
    • Hygiene and Cleaning
    • Environmental Practices
    • End-User Computing
    • Solar Installation
    • Bricklaying

These programmes combine theory with hands-on experience, preparing participants for immediate opportunities in the job market.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be currently unemployed
  • Be a South African citizen
  • Aged between 18–55 years
  • Hold at least a Grade 10 qualification or higher
  • Not be enrolled in any other training or study programme
  • Demonstrate interest in construction or related sectors
  • Submit a certified copy of their South African ID

Role Responsibility
Participants will:

  • Attend all scheduled training sessions and assessments
  • Engage in both theoretical and practical learning components
  • Complete workplace-based training where required
  • Commit to the full duration of the programme (12 months for learnerships)
  • Adhere to training centre rules and regulations
