ARC-LNR Casual/Temporary General Workers 2024 The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is seeking dedicated Casual/Temporary Workers for a twelve-month, fixed-term contract to assist with essential field and facility work at its Roodeplaat facility. This role involves supporting agricultural research activities and ensuring the effective maintenance of research areas, facilities, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
- Field Preparation: Remove irrigation pipes and conduct general land preparation for research trials.
- Research Support: Engage in field tasks including weeding, planting, harvesting, processing plants, and installing or removing fences and irrigation systems.
- Facility Maintenance: Perform general building maintenance tasks, such as painting, plumbing, and basic repairs.
- Cleaning and Upkeep: Maintain cleanliness around research fields, inside glasshouses, tunnels, and surrounding fences.
- Chemical Application: Apply necessary chemical sprays around building exteriors and fences for upkeep.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of Grade 10.
- Experience: At least three years of relevant experience, including proven skills in painting.
- Skills:
- Ability to stand for long periods during fieldwork.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Reliability, neatness, and precision in work tasks.
