As a Casual Worker, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Grape flower emasculations: This involves carefully removing the male parts of grape flowers to control pollination and assist in the breeding process. This requires steady hands, good hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
- General work in tunnels: Assisting with various tasks in the research tunnels, such as planting seedlings, tending to plants, and maintaining the tunnel environment.
- Planting seedlings: Transferring seedlings from seed trays to plant bags, ensuring they are properly planted and cared for.
- Tending to plants: Watering, weeding, and providing general care to plants in the tunnels and vineyards.
Requirements:
- Steady hands and good hand-eye coordination: Essential for delicate tasks like grape flower emasculation.
- Willingness to work outdoors: While some work is conducted in tunnels, emasculation primarily takes place in the vineyard.
- Previous experience in agriculture or a related field is a recommendation: While not required, previous experience will be advantageous.
