Khumani Mine, located in the heart of the Southern Kalahari, approximately 29 km from Kathu along the N14, is inviting motivated, committed, and suitably qualified individuals to apply for its Engineering Learnership Programmes for 2025. These opportunities are external and aim to develop long-term technical skills that not only enhance personal career growth but also benefit families and local communities.

What is Khumani Mine: Engineering Learnership Opportunities 2025?
The 18.2 Engineering Learnership Programmes are designed to equip candidates with artisan-level trades in engineering. Participants will receive structured training and practical exposure to skills in high demand across mining, manufacturing, and other technical sectors. The programme promotes both personal development and regional skills enhancement, aligning with the broader goals of local economic empowerment.

Fields of Training
Applicants may express interest in any of the following artisan trades:

  • Instrumentation Mechanician
  • Plater/Welder
  • Fitter
  • Electrician
  • Millwright

Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for the learnership, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Academic:

  • Grade 12 certificate including Mathematics and Science
  • For specific trades, an N2 Engineering certificate in the relevant discipline

Personal & Practical Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Valid Code B/EB driver’s licence

Assessments & Fitness:

  • Completion of psychometric, aptitude, mathematics, and language assessments
  • Certification of medical fitness under the Mine Health and Safety Act (Act 29 of 1996)

Preference:
Priority is given to applicants from Gamagara and John Taolo Gaetsewe municipal areas in the Northern Cape.
