Job Description
The AVBOB Long Term Insurance Learnership Programme is a 12-month structured programme that blends formal learning at an accredited training institution with practical, on-the-job experience at AVBOB’s head office in Centurion. On successful completion, learners will be awarded a nationally recognised qualification in Long Term Insurance at NQF Level 4.
The programme provides learners with a broad understanding of the long-term insurance environment, equipping them with knowledge in insurance products, customer service, administrative procedures, compliance, and financial literacy. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities by enabling them to participate fully in the workplace and advance in their careers within the financial services industry.
Requirements
To qualify for this inclusive learnership programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be willing to work from the AVBOB Head Office located in Centurion, Gauteng
- Possess a valid Grade 12 / Matric certificate with English and either Maths, Maths Literacy, or Accounting
- Be between the ages of 18 and 35 years
- Must be unemployed at the time of application
- Should not have previously completed a learnership programme
- Must not be enrolled in any formal education programme at the time of application
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic computer literacy is advantageous (MS Office, email, internet)
- Must be able to work independently, take initiative, and be goal-oriented
- Be a South African citizen
- A valid doctor’s letter confirming the disability is mandatory
- Must demonstrate a passion for learning and a desire to grow in the insurance industry
Role Responsibility
The successful learners will be expected to:
- Attend all theoretical training sessions as scheduled by the training provider
- Participate fully in all workplace training and hands-on learning opportunities
- Apply the knowledge gained in practical work environments
- Complete all assignments, assessments, and projects required by the learnership
- Adhere to AVBOB’s internal policies, code of conduct, and operating procedures
- Act as a brand ambassador for AVBOB and conduct themselves professionally at all times
- Demonstrate initiative, responsibility, and commitment to the programme
