About the Babcock Apprenticeship 2025
This apprenticeship targets individuals seeking practical work exposure and technical skill development. Participants will assist Artisans in workshop and field operations, gaining first-hand experience while contributing to daily tasks. The program emphasizes continuous learning, equipping apprentices with the knowledge and practical abilities needed to succeed in their careers.
Apprentices will be expected to:
- Support Artisans in workshop operations and on-site breakdowns
- Uphold a strong culture of safety
- Follow instructions from Supervisors
- Engage in continuous learning and skill development
Locations: Secunda (Mpumalanga), Rustenburg (North West), Sasolburg (Free State)
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
- Grade 12 Certificate with at least 50% in Mathematics and Science
- Valid driver’s license (minimum Code 08)
- TVET or FET N2 Certification in Mathematics, Science, Engineering Drawing, and Diesel Trade Theory (preferred)
- Workshop experience in earthmoving, construction, or heavy lift environments
- Availability to start the program in October 2025
- Willingness to complete both theoretical and practical components
Role Responsibility
Participants will gain hands-on exposure by:
- Supporting Artisans in both workshop and field tasks
- Performing maintenance and operational duties under supervision
- Promoting safety practices at all times
- Engaging in learning initiatives to improve technical knowledge and practical skills
