Buscor Bursary Programme 2024
Buscor Bursary Programme 2024 The Buscor Bursary Programme 2024 is a significant initiative aimed at empowering talented young South Africans by providing them with the financial support they need to pursue higher education. As a leading bus company in South Africa, Buscor understands the importance of education in building a sustainable future. Therefore, the company has created this bursary program to help students from disadvantaged backgrounds achieve their academic goals and create a better future for themselves and their communities.
- Date Published: 4 September 2024
The Buscor Bursary Programme is designed to support students who are pursuing qualifications in fields that are critical to the transportation industry and related sectors. The bursary covers tuition fees, study materials, and, in some cases, accommodation costs. This financial support enables students to focus on their studies without the added pressure of financial constraints.
Please be informed that a limited number of bursaries are available for 2025. This Bursary is only available for applicants residing within Buscor’s operational area.
The bursary will be available for a five-year period to each successful applicant, provided he/she passes every year, and does not change the course/degree, and the financial position of the company is such that bursaries can be afforded.
Please note however, that if applicants received a Buscor bursary in 2024 or earlier, and wish to receive a bursary for 2025, they are not automatically going to receive such bursary, they must re-apply each year and submit their results before their application can be considered.
Only full time studies at nationally recognised institutions of higher learning such as colleges and universities will be considered.
Applicants presently busy with their Grade 12 must submit their mid-year results. Should such candidates be selected to the short list, they will have to submit their final results by 17 January 2025 before a final decision is made to grant the bursary. Shortlisted applicants who are already at tertiary institutions should also submit their results as soon as they are available but not later than 17 January 2025.
All applications will be scrutinised by a management committee and only a limited number will be approved. Applicants must have achieved at least a “C” symbol in Grade 12. Please note that an application does not guarantee approval of such application. Bursary holders who have successfully completed their year of study will be given preference.
No funds for bursaries will be made available unless the candidates submit proof of enrolment at a college or university.
