City of Joburg EPWP Data Capturers and Cleaners 2025 The City of Johannesburg’s Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) is an initiative aimed at creating temporary job opportunities for unemployed residents, while enhancing service delivery and community development. Minimum Requirements
Data Capturer (Administration – EPWP)
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must reside within the jurisdiction of the City of Johannesburg
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 or equivalent
- At least 6 months’ experience in administration and data capturing
- Knowledge of EPWPRS is an added advantage
- Youth (18–35 years) and Women will be prioritized
- Persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply (must submit proof of disability)
- Must be willing to undergo a computer-based assessment
Cleaner (Opportunity Centre – EPWP)
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must reside within the jurisdiction of the City of Johannesburg
- Grade 10 (Grade 12 advantageous)
- No prior experience required
- Persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply (must submit proof of disability)
Role Responsibility
Data Capturer
- Provide administrative and data capturing support to the EPWP Unit
- Input and maintain accurate data records
- Assist with compiling reports and documentation for programme activities
- Support the coordination of EPWP-related administrative processes
Cleaner
- Carry out a variety of cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and washing
- Ensure that floors and work areas are kept clean and hygienic
- Empty trash bins regularly
- Maintain cleanliness in meeting rooms and training venues
- Prepare and serve beverages during meetings, training, and workshops
