Requirements
To be eligible for the EPWP Community Safety Officer positions, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: A Grade 12 certificate.
- Certification: Valid Security Certificates (PSIRA).
- Criminal Record: A clean criminal record is essential.
- Age: Candidates must be between 18 and 35 years old.
Duties and Responsibilities
Community Safety Officers will perform a range of duties, including:
- Assisting Security Officers: Work at access control points, ensuring authorized entry and exit from Council premises.
- Protecting and Securing Premises: Conduct regular patrols to prevent crime and secure Council property and personnel.
- Patrol with Law Enforcement: Work with law enforcement officers to monitor by-law compliance and assist in maintaining order within municipal jurisdiction.
- Managing Access Control: Oversee access control processes by managing registers and confirming appointments.
Eligibility and Preferences
Candidates should be prepared to work in various geographical locations across the City of Polokwane’s Council premises. The municipality will prioritize applicants residing within the city’s jurisdiction.
