Job Overview – Shop Assistant / Cashier

Clicks Jwaneng is seeking a Shop Assistant / Cashier to deliver service excellence, ensure efficient point-of-sale (POS) operations, and maintain high merchandising standards. This role plays a key part in driving customer satisfaction and supporting Clicks’ vision of being the first choice health and beauty retailer.


Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Accurately process customer transactions using POS systems in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ensure correct scanning of merchandise and secure handling of cash at all times
  • Promote and enroll customers into the Clicks ClubCard to achieve participation targets
  • Inform customers about in-store promotions to increase sales and enhance customer value
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by acting as a Clicks brand ambassador
  • Maintain merchandising standards and ensure excellent store presentation
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in line with retail and visual merchandising guidelines
  • Stay updated on products, promotions, ranges, and in-store campaigns
  • Support company values and contribute to a positive retail shopping experience

Required Knowledge

  • Basic numeracy and mathematical calculations
  • Understanding of retail and FMCG merchandising principles
  • Knowledge of stock control and stock management procedures
  • Customer service excellence within a retail environment

Education:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) – Essential,
  • Maths 50% and English 50% at Grade 12 level – Desirable

Experience:

  • Retail or FMCG customer-facing experience – Advantageous
