Job Description:
As an Assistant Sales Representative: Emerging Markets (YES Learner), your main role will be to support the sales function by onboarding and maintaining relationships with customers within the Food Service Industry (FSI) and General Trade (GT) sectors. This position reports to the Clover Clayville branch in Gauteng but will cover multiple national locations, providing broad exposure to the commercial aspects of one of South Africa’s most recognized brands.

You will be responsible for onboarding new customers, managing service excellence, promoting Clover’s products, and working alongside seasoned Sales Representatives and Area Managers to deliver exceptional results.

Requirements:
To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate or equivalent NQF4 qualification
• Valid Code 08 Driver’s License
• Fluent in Business English
• Willingness to travel and work in various locations nationally
• South African citizenship
• Between the ages of 18-35
• Currently unemployed and not studying

Role Responsibility:

Customer Acquisition and Onboarding:

• Actively identify and recruit new customers within FSI and GT channels
• Ensure all scheduled appointments for customer acquisition are attended
• Coordinate the customer account application process until completion
• Reach monthly onboarding targets:
  • 125 new customers for FSI
  • 200 new customers for GT
• Promote and introduce Clover’s product portfolio to new clients
• Maintain accurate records and reports of rejected customers with reasons

Customer Service and Support:

• Maintain consistent customer communication and excellent service delivery
• Follow up on account activations and service quality
• Work closely with Sales Representatives and Area Managers for seamless customer transitions
• Provide support during the sales process and answer any customer inquiries

Sales Operations and Relationship Management:

• Build strong and trusting relationships with existing and prospective customers
• Provide support through sales procedures and product demonstrations
• Ensure product availability and avoid stock shortages
• Minimize product returns by managing inventory appropriately
• Maintain product facings and shelf standards in stores

Sales Data and Reporting:

• Monitor and track product sales per outlet and by category
• Record and report on sales performance metrics
• Assist in implementing pricing strategies
• Monitor fridge compliance and branding standards
