The department is currently recruiting 15 Adherence Club Facilitators in the HIV/AIDS Directorate. This is a crucial role in supporting HIV-positive individuals to manage their health effectively.

Job Requirements

  • Educational Qualification: Matric (Grade 12) is mandatory.
  • Residency: Candidates must reside near the clinic or catchment area where they will be working. Proof of address is required.
  • Additional Knowledge: Understanding of HIV/AIDS and prior experience in counselling will be an added advantage.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Communication Skills: Proficiency in both written and verbal communication is essential.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to ensure smooth operations of the adherence clubs.
  • Report Writing: Strong report writing skills are required for documenting club activities and patient progress.

Key Responsibilities

As an Adherence Club Facilitator, your primary role will be to establish and manage adherence clubs. These clubs play a pivotal role in ensuring that patients living with HIV maintain adherence to their prescribed medication, ultimately supporting their overall wellness. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Club Setup and Sessions:
  • Assist the Clubs Manager in establishing adherence clubs.
  • Facilitate adherence club sessions, focusing on the wellness and medication adherence of members.
  1. Patient Support:
  • Register club members and facilitate support groups.
  • Monitor the health and adherence of members, and refer patients to a professional nurse if necessary.
  • Distribute pre-dispersed Patient Medicine Parcels (PMPs).
  1. Attendance and Follow-ups:
  • Register attendance in the Repeat Prescription Collection Strategies (RPCs) monitoring tool.
  • Follow up with patients who miss club sessions to ensure they are supported.
  1. Reporting:
  • Compile and submit monthly reports on the adherence club’s activities, progress, and challenges.
